I was given the opportunity to go to UNC Chapel Hill and be a part of NYLF. I stayed there for 9 days and I was able to have conversations with medical doctors and watch live surgeries. Out of about 230 students, I was in a group of 12. We were given different situations for the healthcare work place, and we worked together to solve problems and debate questionable ethical practices with other groups. Our days would start at 7 am, and they would end at about 11 pm. I was forced to become a college student for those few days because I was faced with the responsibilities of waking up and being on time for sessions.
